Love this project - would love to do this with my students - can you share the process? Are they starting with a photo? Using the grid method- the results are great!!! Please share- Lindsey.snyder@yahoo.com
This is such a great activity incorporating many different mediums. Did the students trace their portraits or work directly off the photograph? I teach middle school art in Scottsdale, and I think this could be adapted for them. Thanks SO much for sharing. I especially liked the Library reception...what a GREAT idea! How did you get/afford all those frames for the pictures...just curious! If you wouldn't mind e-mailing me it is csaraniero@susd.org. I could share some of my projects, too. Thanks so much!!! Cathy
This is so great. I am so sorry to also bug you about how you did if it is not too much trouble! My email is hellojennyjohnson@gmail.com. Thank you so much for sharing!

Hello! Is it possible for you to share this process with me? I'm very interested in doing with this with a class I teach. Thank you! kaeveleigh@slingshot.co.nz
When I did a similar project I took photos of the students and printed them or in black and white on card stock. Have the students color, paint or collage right on top of the copy. This lowers the skill level and the students are pleased with the results. We did a pop art project this way, doing Warhol studies. They loved it. I wish this teacher shared more of their process in their posts!
This is a very cool project. I am trying to use a greater variety of mediums with my students. Could you please share your procedure? lonions@regent.bc.ca
Ditto to all the above comments, looks fantastic. I am sure you have a great step by step approach to get such fantastic results, could you please share with me too? rf@twizel.school.nz Many thanks
Your project looks fun and engaging, and results are original! Are students are working from an image? Can you please share the process? I'm sure my students will have a blast. nmew@pps.net Thank you
This is absolutely wonderful. I would absolutely appreciate if you could pass any part or all the process if possible?! Many thanks! Mmillanbugg@gmail.com
I took pics of my students and had them trace their image using a Sharpie onto clear film. Some students sanded the backside of the image, others did not. Then, students used pastels to fill in their portrait. All looked great. It's relatively easy, as long as you have the materials! the clear film can then be placed on a separate background for added effect/mixed media use.
