SCULPTURE WEEK SUMMER 2010!
This week was inspiring! A creative group of young artists created these "abstract sculptures".
They chose to work in wood with lines and angles or cardboard tubes with rounds and curves.

FRANK STELLA INSPIRED GRAFFITI RELIEFS
The children painted in acrylic on corrugated board.
They sprayed, splattered, combed, dripped and experimented with colors and textures.
Lots of fun!

  1. I love these. I found a big bag of Roy Lichtenstein Peace Through Chemistry lithograph pieces, torn up at Gemini, GEL, in L.A. in the dumpster (more later). I gave them to the Head Start school and the kids made collages from them. They were amazingly wonderful, with the essence of the RL's, but spontaneous and whimsical, clearly Pop, but also naive. I wish I had some or even photos.
I do a lot of dumpster diving, always have. Email for a pic of a Jasper Johns on newsprint from his trash!
